Well, what a day. Last week was a blur for us both. Today we got to sleep in...7:30! What a luxury. Then off to the bank, cleaners, new tires for the car and then off to San Antonio for the re-opening ceremony of San Pedro. It was fun to see folks from the library and to see how wonderful the new San Pedro Library is now! It's so open and bright; I'm really happy that the staff has a great new place to work.
Lunch was at Big Kahuna, where I was ready to settle down to the yummy vegetarian plate but then Thinh mentioned pho. That sold us both so we had that, met a friend there and had great food and company. Here we have fresh basil (we watched her cut these from the garden outside our window!), beansprout, lemon and peppers.
Ran around to 4 different stores, trying to find a desk lamp. Wait, make that five. Plus one just to buy sheets. Why is it so hard to find a sturdy but stylish desk lamp these days? We're looking for the kind that you can adjust and swing or swivel. Not yet successful. But we at least found a little coffee table for the living. Where else but Bassett. We're Ruby's favorite customers currently. We are very happy with all our new stuff but still trying to get things all integrated, merged, fixed and then put away. I still have no use of the right pedestal on my desk. This has been a real bummer. I'm ready to be done and using it. Next Saturday makes the 4th visit and hopefully Salvador can fix it for good. The staff is actually quite cool to work with overall.
And now before I go to bed, here's just a random photo of my most favorite color. When we go walking and pass the library, there is a tree that has this blooming all over it. I don't know what the tree is but it's beautiful to me. I love it. Have a good night and a good upcoming week everyone.
