Lovely colors

green on red

There's no special story behind this shot but I just love the colors in it and I keep looking at it when I go through photos for this and that. I thought I'd just share it.

Spring is here and today we got a bit of rain in the morning. It was balmy when I went to work and overcast. When I left for lunch, it was breezy and chilly and had recently stopped raining. I enjoyed the refreshing feeling tremendously. I am sad that it looks as if our "winter" is pretty much over. I love cooler weather. Cold is nice too. I'm not saying I need Alaska. I just need more seasons. :) Well, I want more seasons. Not need. Obviously I have lived here almost 13 years and I have adjusted now but I do still miss the seasons of North Carolina.

Our garden is doing well. There's the most precious little tomato already on the plant! I will post it soon. Everything has sprouted except the rosemary in my containers. I am doubtful of their survival but I'll keep checking. Cucumbers look great, as do sunflowers. The green beans need some attention this weekend as it appears something is eating the new leaves off. Hmm. The yellow squash only sprouted 3 so far in the entire row. We're not sure what's going on with that. I'll keep you posted.

Smokey Joe banquet was last night and we had a blast. I posted quite a bit on it on the Seguin Photo Blog so I won't write much here. Mark's tired and relieved it's done but he and I both enjoyed the speakers a great deal. Mark mainly hosted them since Sunday since I was out of town and also couldn't take off work when I got back. Hopefully he can recover a bit this weekend.

Next week is a whirlwind trip to Starke (FL) and Eastover (SC) for site visits like we did for PA this past week. It's crazy fast -- fly in Monday, site visit Tuesday AM, fly to next site Tuesday PM, site visit Wednesday AM, fly home Wednesday PM. Hopefully in time to catch the Spurs/Sun game. I already missed a game this past week b/c of the travel. I just couldn't miss two in a row. We have so few left before playoffs. By the way, we looked simply PATHETIC tonight against the Jazz. Ugh, I couldn't even watch the last quarter it was that painful. Plus Pop already benched the starters. Sigh. I thought we were getting our groove back. Tonight we looked like high schoolers. It was so sad and mind-boggling. How do they manage to flip like that? Anyway. I better head to bed now.
