Can you imagine that these's delicate looking little cones would grow into what you see in the photo below?? I was really surprised by the weight and size of these pine cones!
On the last day of our two state tour of Joist & Deck sites, Jess and I woke up at 6:30a just so we can drive down to the northern tip of Lake Tahoe (we were flying out of Reno at 11:30a). And we were really glad we did. The scenery was just fantastic! This was shot at Kings Beach. We cruised around there for a bit in magnificantly cool weather (lower 60s F) and then headed back in plenty of time.
Thanks Jess for being an adventurous travel companion! We sure saw some great things during our trip. From corn fields to desert to mountains at 9000 feet elevation. Awesome!

Those cones are deep purple! wow! nice shots!
Tahoe is totally awesome and only a little less than 2 hours from my house. We go there every chance we get.
