Thank you everyone who has written and/or called to ask about us and Ike. So far, so good. No action here in Seguin besides more traffic from evacuees, though nothing like we saw during Rita. Thank goodness. Everyone took warnings seriously and there isn't the chaos of last time. I'll keep you posted here.

So the last time I wrote, it was the candy bar. In addition to that, we got two $100 bills for our two records we hit at Steel Texas. Super cool. And even though I got home around 11pm last night and couldn't sleep until 1am (still on west coast time), I still got to work by 7am because today was a special paycall to see how we did for the year. PLUS we found out what our Profits & Performance Bonus is for this year...a whopping 23.50%! Wow. It is so awesome to be included in this. Some of this is in a check, some in our 401K. We also got this cool backpack and a Garmin unit. Nice.

We have just finished week 3 of our 4-week commitment to help on the acquisiton team. It's been great to meet the new folks and other IT employees. And we've already got requests for computer training; now we just have to figure out how to meet all the demand. It's been tiring but fun too.

Today was so fun. I didn't realize how much I missed everyone until I got to the office and finally saw them. There were lots of hugs, lots of laughter and just lots of fun. It made me really happy to have good friends at work. When I started here last year, I wasn't sure how long it would be before I developed close friendships such as those I had at the library. I'm happy to know that there are so many wonderful people at the mill. I still miss my old buddies though.
