Last weekend we checked on the bees since it was such lovely weather. A little breeze in the air but on the warm side so they were pretty active. First we checked on the bees in the backyard and they were good. The Africanized hive is dead pretty much. Can't hear any buzzing going on. Finally.
Then we went out to the country location to get out and about a bit and we had a great time. It is so relaxing to be outside enjoying the sun and breeze and bees! We even had some company that day. These cute, sweet little girls were playing outside when we got there and so they came over to visit with us. They were really nice. One of them lives there and she had her friends over. I was impressed by their comfort so close to the bees. We just made sure they knew the importance of not getting too close. Just to be on the safe side.
As you can see, the girls had their dogs with them. Cute. They also have goats, hens, cats and two donkeys. Wow. This guy cracked me up and I was both amused and slightly uneasy with his intense stare. Uhhhhh.....hello Mr. Donkey. Did you need something? Am I suppose to do something?? LOL

You had an africanized hive? how did that happen? How did you find out? What did you do to control them?
