Fly Away Bee!
This is one of my favorite shots for several reasons. First of all, I love the green of the spider. It's really pretty. Secondly, I love the bee caught on the web. As I snapped the shot, the bee got snagged on the web, but fortunately, she was able to pull away and escaped. I love the story the picture presents. Also, it's neat that the spider is already busy putting away the last victim/meal.
This is out at the country bee yard where Mark has some hives. All around the area, it is brushy and over-grown. On this outting, I counted six BIG spiders, each with their own web. Waiting. And not for long. They are so smart! They had an endless supply of food, having spun with webs so near the hives. The bees can't help but eventually fly into the webs! LOL. Mark got rid of them when we were done on that trip.
