Hey, what's this blog thing?

Apparently I now blog annually on my personal blog. Ha

I love the InterWorld! Our bee biz continues to thrive and a lot of the movement has come from our social media accounts driving people to the site and to Pearl while we were there. Also love it for reconnecting me with friends from long ago and in far away places on Earth. Here are some awesome things I have learned to do/make lately off my bucket list of things I just want to try:

Made an all natural sunblock - yay me! No more stinky, gross for your body stuff from the store.

All natural sunblock made with our beeswax!

Now making our own Honey Oats Granola. Love how you can control what goes in there.

Honey Oats Granola

Still need to work on perfecting it but I've checked off the Spiced Pecans thing. Too addictive but I'll try again soon.

Caramel Popcorn. Done. It was good but also addictive. Shelving this until we drop a few more pounds. haha

And finally, a not-food item to check off the list - beeswax wraps so we can discontinue use of plastic as much as possible. Still trying to find the best way to apply a thin layer of wax to my fabrics without getting wax everywhere within 2 feet of the action area. hehe

Happy to be home and working on new products!

Oh yes, I've made lip balm and deodorant as well. And started stretching again each morning. And praying more. And meditating more. Now if I could just have a little more time to read and craft.

OH! I got to be on TV this year. Totally enjoyed it and decided I need a show where I can just talk about random things and bring friends on to do fun stuff. Actually maybe I should just update my youtube channel...

Okay, that's enough. Later. Maybe I will actually post while in NC next month.

Back from...wherever I've been!

Lily's Cookies

Original start date of post - Sept 26

This is one of my favorite shots from a recent trip to Lily's Cookies with Mark to restock the honey inventory. I love the bright, super clean looking shop and I love the treats they make there. Also a joy to stop by there and I'm so glad I found it. And I'm so happy they are carrying our honey and now they actually have the Tx Mesquite Honey Cookie. COOL. Very cool. :)

Been a busy time - traveling...

Date I realized I never posted this - October 26 (haha)
...and apparently I was so busy that I didn’t even finish what I started here. LOL. So, to pick up where I left off, I had been doing a bit of traveling for work lately though nothing like in the past. I’m a little sad about that because I really miss teaching and meeting our workers out in the other parts of the US. Not sure I’ll ever get to go overseas at this point, but you never know. I’m ready to go if necessary.

We have been super busy with the Gretchen Bee Ranch biz – I call it GBR now. Lots of fairs, festivals and markets. Phew. It’s a lot of work but mostly a lot of fun. We love meeting new people and we also love sharing some great tasting honey. Plus we are learning a lot. Everyday. About bees. About business. About web stuff. Sigh. It’s a little draining, I have to admit, but I wish I could do it full-time with Mark. That’s our goal so we’ll just keep plugging away until one day, before we know it, I’ll just HAVE to commit full-time to it. After all, we must grow our Bee Empire! As an aside, I think we are beginning to get recognized by people around town. At the least, I know people call Mark the “Bee Man” and if I am with him, then they recognize us from our label picture. hehe

Okay so before I leave you, and hopefully this time not for so long, I ponder the following:

Why does this shot have 119 views?
Rain boots are in season this spring

While this shot has 197 views?
Our new rubber boots

And this shot has 507 views??
I love my new boots!

I can only guess that people think boots on actual feet are a lot more appealing to the eye than boots just sitting in the house, which is still more appealing than boots just sitting on the shelf at the store. I don't know why this struck me but I was looking at my Flickr statistics and it caught my attention. And my most popular picture???? I shall post it later this week. You'll see why.
