Back from Vacation

Actually, I haven't been on vacation, that's just wishful thinking. It's been so busy lately, I haven't been very good about blogging. We started our home remodeling project on March 22 I believe and then there was a big slow down until Uncle Mark had a few words with the contractor. We are now back on track and lots of things are happening around the house. I should have some before and after shots soon to send out. Externally, the driveway and sidewalk are done and it's wonderful to have. We have replaced the front porch with new wood and several coats of paint. There is a new curb from the bamboo in the back and connecting to the driveway in the front. This is to keep the water away from house. Along there is a flowerbed that I'm very excited to plan out and fill in soon. This weekend Rick the Bricklayer is starting on our front steps and the skirting around the house. We're very excited about getting this done b/c we'd like to landscape the front yard before it gets toooooooo hot but we have to wait for that project to be completed.

Meanwhile, internally we have turned over our bedroom to our painters. We spent most of yesterday packing up EVERYTHING, including all the trinkets and insulators. We've already decided we're not putting everything back. You never realize how much STUFF you have until you have to pack it all up! The floor is getting refinished, there's going to be a storage closet added on top of the existing closet and then we have to select a color. Oh, and some window treatments. We are very excited to see this happen (and that we aren't doing it ourselves, all it takes is some dinero). This should take approximately 5 days, barring any "troubles" that might pop up.

On to the Spurs...it's PLAYOFFS time! We're looking pretty good after game 1 but I hope we can keep up the energy and remain focused. I was very happy when Uncle Mark told me Ron Artest got a one game suspension. I really don't like the way he plays. If you're going to smack someone, go ahead and be a man and say, yea, I stuffed him. That's what Robert Horry does. He knocks you down but then he doesn't pretend to act all innocent like Artest. He has a look that says, yea, there's more where that came from. Must be left over from his days as a Laker. I didn't think I could ever like him but he has (after several years) become one of my favorites. We went to game 1 and hopefully we'll have tickets to game 2 as well. Keep you posted. BTW, I was happy to see Evil Longoria, Tony's girlfriend, laid low this year. Maybe they learned from last year's embarrassing loss in Game 1 against Denver that it is a good idea for Tony to focus. He has a superb game Saturday and I hope he finally has a great post-season. He usually fizzles out a bit. Speaking of which, I still cannot cheer for Chucky (yes, as in the scary doll--don't you think he looks like him??), aka Nick Van Exel. That guy plays like he played for Dallas pre-Avery Johnson. When he does that, he usually doesn't score. He still has to learn to SHARE the ball. Anyway, everyone else, I like. Tim is still my fav.

Ta ta for now. I'm off to check on progress on the house!
