Buddha spared me from a night without the AC! We're having the tubing replaced while the belly of the house is exposed for remodeling. The newer tubes are more rigid and better - I already noticed a difference in the airflow in the rooms they completed. Anyway, I thought we'd be two days without AC and it was 95 as I drove into Seguin yesterday. You know me and hot weather. I've learned to adapt here but it sure feels better to have cold air when it reaches 90-something.
The house is coming along. The bedroom is 98% complete and we moved some furniture back in last night. A slumber party in the living room was fun but sleeping on a real bed is much better. We love the color and the new floor. Mark and I put on a third coat of the polyeurothane and got the results we wanted. Two just was not enough. I am currently looking for window curtains. We've discovered it's actually quite difficult to find attractive coverings that are thick enough to keep out the light and heat of TX without it costing $300 per window. Yikees! So more huting during lunch today.
Sporting news: Our series with the Kings is tied. We bombed in games 3 and 4. Embarrassingly so. I will not say more on this except that the word DISAPPOINTMENT looms constantly right now. We go to game 5 tonight. I have my necessary talismans on in order to help the boys and I will be sure to do my part to make AT&T Center as loud as if not louder than ARCO Arena. I don't like our arena name but it's better than ARCO, don't you think??
More sporting news: Our very own Super Mario Williams of NC State was drafted #1 in the NFL this weekend! GO WOLFPACK! He's a defensive end and he's going to be a Houston Texan. Now, if only they can fix their quarterback problem....they might win more than a couple of games this year. Super Mario beat out the ever-so-popular Reggie Bush, who wanted a guaranteed $30, which the Texans balked at. I think that was for the first year. Can you believe him? Anyway, at $54 million for 6 years, Super Mario seems very happy and ready to play.
Gotta run. More later.
