After months and months, actually almost a YEAR, of planning, searching, purchasing, waiting, more planning and some failed attempts to coordinate Mr. P, our super plumber, and the tub guy, we finally have our tub installed and I love it. As with most of our other home projects when we have had to rely on others, it was painful at times. But it is so nice now to have our new tub in and fully functional.
Mark installed the shower ring (who knew it'd be so challenging finding the right hardware and fixtures and then finding a way to actually buy it) and I have tried it out for a first run for a bath. It's super. Deeper than our last one and oh-so-smooth. The old one was rough and needed refurbishing which we chose not to do as the prices of the new tubs have really come down since we first started shopping around about 2 or 3 years ago. The blue worried me a bit b/c I saw it in bright sunlight before it was installed and it seemed too bright. But once I saw it in the bathroom, it darkened quite a bit and we are very happy with the color selection, by the way, it's Sherwin Williams Georgian Bay. We still need to find some kind of footing so for now the tub sits on some cut flooring tile to protect the flooring a bit.
Next, I will try and post an entry about the moving of a beehive! Good thing Mark is a good keeper of the bees!
