Farewell Dinner
Dinner at La Fonda with some members of the Knit Nite gang
Last week was a crazy week b/c it was my last week at San Antonio Public Library and the City of SA. I have been there 12 years (well, July 1 would have been 12 but it's close enough). Though I am very excited to work in the same town I live, it was kind of hard to say goodbye to some really wonderful people.
I have not posted lately since I needed to clean out and also pack up 12 years worth of stuff. It's amazing how quickly you can do that when you're on a deadline! Then there was a lot of goodbye lunches, visits and the party. The party was really nice, very laid back and relaxed and I didn't cry though I brought tissues, just in case. Sarah almost made me start when she hugged me goodbye but we held it together. I just wanted it to be a happy time.
So my last day was this past Friday. After the party and with about 20 minutes left till 5pm, there was a fire alarm, that was hilarious b/c it allowed me to get a good group photo of a lot of co-workers. Then Kendra asked me to stand in for Carla in order to shoot a training video on the receipt printers we are installing. It was really fun. When you guys see it in training, tell me what you think. And wait until you see who the other customer was! Anyway, a good way to cap it all off would be a few shots with the Botero Cat & Bird. Bronze is more slippery than anticipated. :) I will post one of those later.
Now that I'm home this week, lots of projects are getting completed here, which is so nice. And to be able to enjoy the house is a real treat. I only wish Mark had more time here. His schedule is still pretty crazy hectic.
No new pics of the bees this week. Mark checks on them regularly but they were a little irritated last weekend so we didn't bother them. He plans to put two more supers (boxes) on them this weekend so maybe I will be able to get a shot. We did order some supplies and I will get my own hat and veil so that will allow me to get closer with less worry about stings, just in case they are still annoyed with us.
Went to Games 1 and 2 of the Spurs/Jazz division series and the games were awesome. We won both and lead the series 2-0. The guys to to Utah for games 3 and 4 and if we can get at least one of those games, it would be a very good thing. Tim looks fantastic this year and how he didn't get any talk-time for MVP is still unbelieveable to me. The man is awesome even at 31. Playing with a lot of fire this year and that's always great.
Okay, gotta run make some chicken for the King Ranch casserole I want to make. More later. Have a great week everyone.
