Things are cool.

Literally. The weather has been fantastic since Sunday evening. It has actually gotten down to the 40s overnight here in Seguin and the days are now low humidity. Nothing but beautiful blue skies and a great breeze. Yesterday Jacki and I went for a walk and now I'm waiting again for her. Very relaxing. Oh, there she is. Be back.

I'm back. Work has been great. I love the new job very much and am learning lots of new business practices since for profit is so different from the library. Last Saturday, Mark and I went to Family Day and had a very nice time. There is an abbreviated tour (compared to the two-day, torching included tour of new employee orientation) as well as lunch and, of course, tons of cool company freebies. The gifts included company key chains, cozies, flashlights and a gigantic golf umbrella. All very nice.

This picture is a shot of the shredder area of the company. I saw them in action again today as I was leaving and it mesmorized me, as it usually does. When the three arms are going full speed and throwing scrap into the shredder, I must say, it is pretty cool. Scrap material is delivered here and these arms feed piles of stuff through the shredder and also sorts a variety of materials for further processing. I have not toured over there b/c it's apparently very dangerous so we don't really get to visit past the office in the front of the yard. It's very cool to learn about how we take scrap and make steel and money from it. In the next Expo issue, I'm going to submit an illustration of the process.

Okay, off to make dinner and wait for Mark, who is still at work. Late hours again now that he has that new job with Asset Management. Pork chops, potatoes au gratin and zuchinni await consumption. Have a good rest of the week everyone.
