What a week
Another week has flown by and now it's November. I can't believe it is so near the end of the year already! Sonia and I had a lot of fun at work this week. This is going on five weeks with no travel so we're able to visit with people more and do fun things at home and work. Like bake. I made a chocolate chip Bundt cake, make that two. One for home and one for work. It's been a very popular cake....thanks Thuy, for sharing the recipe all those years ago! Now I gotta figure out how to make those scrumptious cranberry muffins she also used to make for us. :)
So for Halloween, Sonia found these cute and inexpensive costume ideas on the web. This is her bag o' leaves costume. Cute, very funny. We made the rounds to friends' offices and gave them a laugh. I nearly cried a few times...you know, stuffing newspapers down the bag, watching as she lost some as we walked around (from the bottom of the bag, very funny, trust me) --- these are fun things to see at the mill in IT. We also had our paycall and of course, lots of candy. Overall, super fun week.
To top of the great week, I had a great surprise today. We were shopping around for a camera for Mark and after reading, reading, reading, we were ready to go play with digicams at Best Buy. I was aiming for a compact point-and-shoot for him as he's taking more pictures now for his research and books. We narrowed it down to two, I believe a Canon and an Olympus, but he said for the money (and the feel of the cameras), we could get me an upgrade and then he'd take my z610. What a man. :) Thanks honey bee! He feels comfortable with the z610 and so we swapped. I'm so excited about the new z1015 and I can't wait to try it out. It does this funny processing thing that takes several seconds but I'm going to research whether a firmware update will help that. It hasn't been a problem today when I've been practicing but we'll see. I'll really have to test the camera out next week to decide if it's a keeper. You get two weeks to return so we'll see.
