It’s finished! So I have officially completed my Olympic event. It didn’t take as long as I thought it would for my very first hat! Decreasing the number of stitches to make it smaller up top was fun and interesting. But not nearly as interesting as moving onto my first experience with Double-Pointed Needles, aka DPN. That was definitely different. At times I felt very clumsy. You have all these different needles connected at the same time to this one little hat! Along the way, I managed to drop a stitch but I also managed to creatively “fix” my little mistake. On the outside of the hat, the right side out, you can really see the dropped stitch. Anyway, I am glad I tried it finally. I will now move on to a scarf for a certain someone’s birthday at the end of the month (not Bac Thuy this time). THEN I am going to finish Miss Sonia’s felt bag. I’m more than half way done with that but I haven’t worked on it in quite some time. It’s high time I go ahead and do that. THEN my other projects I want to work on include a little pouch for my SIRIUS player, which I have affectionately named Leonard. Don’t ask me why, but the name really suits the little thing. I have really enjoyed listening to the satellite stuff since Uncle Mark got it for me at Christmas.
What else today? Church with Uncle Mark, a nice lunch as we watched the Spurs beat the Pacers (boooo), a cruise around town while listening to Lynyrd a walk since it was a beautiful day today (sunny, no clouds, about 67 degrees, no humidity – ideal) and then some pita pizzas while watching the Olympics (ski jump and some speed skating).
A remark I heard from Uncle Mark as he spoke with his mom about yours truly and my Knitting Olympics (Kolympics): “…well, it helps that she grew up using chopsticks because that’s gotta help with the knitting.” He is very funny, that man.
Olympic phrase for the day: “scrum out” (heard during the snowboarding qualifications). Used as in: “Ohhhh, he scrummed out right there!” I’m not sure why you can’t say, “Oh, he fell! Or, “Oh, he messed up right there.” I guess it’s not so exciting.
Exciting Olympic news for the day: Michelle Kwani is out. Finally she can move on even if it means no Olympic medal for her. EVER. Oh well Michelle. There is more to life than a medal. Really there is. Well, Khanh. I guess we won’t see much more of her for the rest of the games, huh?
Okay, I’m outta here for now. I will soon send an album with my Kolympic hat. I would rate it only a bronze because there are no embellishments and it’s just one color. But hey! It’s my first hat ever. I’m just glad it doesn’t have a GIGANTIC hole in it. Like a certain someone’s black scarf…no names will be mentioned but you know who you are. ;)
Di Tinie out.

Oh my Gods, it is so finished! I love it. I like the color and how dainty it looks, although not so dainty on M & R's heads, and Gods only knows how it would look on my Gi-Normous head.
The fact that Double-Pointed Needles have a TLA is a bit scary...don't know if I can attempt to do/use something that comes with a TLA.
All those projects of yours, and they are all different, unlike all my projects, which are many, unfinished and the same.
/me going away and mourning the passing....of the torch from Michelle Kwan.
What does TLA mean? I know not Texas Library Association.
Do not cry for Michelle. She will still be very popular. And at least she didn't tear herself up permenantly just for a medal. It was smart to pull out when she did.
